Tidewater Environmental Services, Inc.
(TESI), a Middlesex Water subsidiary,
provides wastewater services to
approximately 1,800 residential customers
in Delaware. TESI was established in 2004 after the passage of Senate Bill
99 which added wastewater utilities to those regulated by the Delaware Public
Service Commission (PSC). Under the legislation, wastewater utilities are
required to obtain Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCNs)
from the PSC to serve customers. The PSC also regulates wastewater utility
rates in DE.
TESI has been operating wastewater treatment systems in Sussex County, DE since 2005 and continues to add and operate new facilities. The Company works closely with area developers and continues to build its wastewater franchise area to serve customer needs.
