PWC pumps, treats and distributes water for domestic purposes

Pinelands Water and Wastewater Co.

URGENT MESSAGE: Please don’t flush wipes down the toilet

During these times we understand there is an increased need and use of sanitizing and other wipes by customers but, please don’t flush them down the toilet. These items  and anything other than standard toilet paper, should not be put into the toilet. They will clog both household piping and the sewer pipes and pumpstations, resulting in blockages and jams for the pipes and the equipment treating this wastewater. Even many of the wipes that are labeled “flushable” are not and increase the risk for equipment failures and sewage overflows, and higher sewer bills.

In addition leftover and unused cooking oils, grease and fats should also not be poured down the drain and into the sewer system. While it might seem very liquid when it is coming off the stove, as it cools it hardens and also clogs pipes and sewer equipment.

Please put wipes in the trash and not toilet- help keep the wipes out of the pipes. And that goes for grease and oils too. We are asking our customers to help us as we manage your important utilities.
